SYNOPSIS
Christian hitchhikes on a dark highway in Minnesota, waiting near the last exit before a seeming black hole. On the other side of the road, a Woman carrying a sign saying “Alaska” hitchhikes in the opposite direction. Christian crosses the road and tells her that he is a fugitive; he has run over his stepfather with his stepfather’s car in front of his house. He tells her he’s in community college, then quickly recants and tells her that he has dropped out. She tries to get him to go away, but he claims he needs someone to talk to and stays. A Man arrives and claims to be Elvis, then “proves” it by telling Christian about Christian’s birth. The Woman claims to be Medea, and Christian’s mother, while Elvis insists he’s Darth Vader and Christian’s father. Christian recants about killing his stepfather, and it turns out he is only seventeen. Just as Elvis/Darth Vader and Medea steal Christian’s shirt, leaving him to freeze on a cold night as they try to flag down aliens, the scene evaporates. Christian suddenly is outside his house, talking to his stepfather, trying to negotiate his way back inside.

The Woman broadcasts her final destination.
