THE BOX

The Box is a wacky allegorical comedy inspired by the myths of Pandora and Prometheus mixed with modern cartoon references. Epth is deposited on a quiet beach by a mysterious ferryman and then encounters a succession of zany characters each prodding him on toward some elusive self discovery.
The Box was developed at Frank Silvera Writers' Workshop, Temple University's Community Outreach Theatre, Theatre Center Philadelphia and premiered at University of the Arts Drake Theatre. It is performed with a cast of five and a chorus of dancer/spirits that chant and move constantly through the space. The play runs about 90 minutes.
