Premiered at River Trails Middle School (Mt. Prospect, IL).
There is one classroom of students at Madison Middle School that no one wants to teach, a classroom affectionately known as the "Brat Trap." After the students scare off yet another substitute teacher, the principal decides that she is fed up and talks the students into joining a brand new program at their school: "Students in Space." The kids are shipped off into space the very next day, and everyone is very excited that they are leaving! After the students' rocket crash lands on planet Nomadis, they soon meet Queen Europa and the bratty aliens that live there. Although the humans and the aliens initially do not get along—and it doesn't help that there's a dangerous beast roaming around—they eventually realize that they may have more in common than they think...
"I just want to say thank you for writing such a hilariously wonderful show. The kids loved it and we laughed ourselves to tears every night. There were a few times during show nights that I actually had to step out because I was laughing so hard, even after seeing the performance countless times. Our kids learned so many valuable lessons in this show and gained immeasurable self-confidence from performing it. And I could go on and on about the songs! They are absolutely amazing and get stuck in your head, in the best way possible." - Emily Johnson, president of Front & Center Art Collective (Monroe, MI)
