Synopsis
Eleven-year-old Charlie makes the same secret wish every day: to have a family that takes care of each other. But her mom barely gets out of bed in the morning, her dad is in jail and when Charlie is sent to live with distant relatives in a small Appalachian town, her dream seems even more out of reach. Or is it? With the help of an uncommonly valiant neighbor boy, a big-hearted aunt and a skinny stray dog, could it be that wishes come true in even the most improbable places—and will Charlie recognize it before it's too late?
