Synopsis
Cornelia's her father’s daughter: a devout Catholic and ardent opponent of the Dutch revolt against Spanish rule. Pieter fancies himself a "revolutionary," ready to fight for Dutch independence. Yet opposites do indeed attract, and their lives become more and more intertwined in this romance set against the backdrop of the Eighty Years' War. But with battle—and Spanish troops—on their doorstep threatening their homes and their newfound happiness, each must make a choice: Will they fight for their love—with all of its discomfort and contradictions—or slide back into the comfort of their old selves?
