Synopsis
Hard-boiled kindergartener Linda Sharpe sneers at her fellow students from the edge of the schoolyard. She knows the cruelty of fate far too well to join in their mindless play. Enter blissfully oblivious Becky Buchanan, who refuses to leave her "new friend" Linda alone. As Becky's boundless enthusiasm chips away at Linda's stony exterior, Linda reveals the tragic recess backstory that hardened her heart. Becky's almost made a breakthrough when brutish fourth-grader Kurt Marino appears, demanding lunch money. Will Linda stick to looking out for number one, or will she stand up for a potential new friend?
