Dream House: A Rainy Day Play was commissioned and produced through Plays & Players Theater (Philadelphia, PA) for their P.L.A.Y. (Philadelphia Local Artists for Youth) program - November 2014.
Jenn, a grown-up with a grown-up job, returns to the old rowhome in which she grew up. As a child, her father's hot air balloon accident forced her to stay with her super-paranoid Aunt Greta. Now Jenn has inherited the house (along with some of Aunt Greta's neuroses), and with it a whole host of not-very-pleasant memories. With a thunderstorm approaching, Jenn must learn to reconnect with her childhood self, and use her imagination (along with an assortment of household items) to fight her grown-up fears. What follows is a menagerie of paint, puppetry, mime, song, and the notion of what it actually means to grow up.
