Jill Trent Science Sleuth premiered at Cayuga Community College, Auburn NY, in March 2020 (Harlequin Productions).
The year is 1944, in a large American city. Scientific investigator Jill Trent and her accidental sidekick, Daisy Smith, solve one crime after another, outwitting the bad guys and making the city safer. Yet with each case they crack, our heroes draw inexorably closer to the center of a vast undercover Nazi operation which has the potential to cripple the country from within. In the end, Daisy must overcome her worst fears if she has any chance of saving Jill—and the entire nation—from mortal danger.
"Harlequin Productions of Cayuga College under the fine direction of Bob Frame brings to life a lovable, if not widely remembered super-sleuth comic book heroine, Jill Trent: Science Sleuth. Lots of laughs, humorous characters and a fun and colorful set combined with the talents of this (almost) entirely student cast and crew. Always a delight, the students paid homage to not only the Jill Trent series but also to the comic books genre with all their camp, melodrama, high energy and silly accents. A wonderful job done for a receptive audience." - Diane Mashia, Theatre Association of New York State adjudicator.
