Synopsis

Bedtime is the perfect time to take a trip into the Hundred Acre Wood! Join Christopher Robin as he adventures with Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and a host of beloved characters through a series of seasonal vignettes. Whether it's Pooh getting stuck, the arrival of a new friend or winter freezing the woods, this Appalachian adaptation of A. A. Milne's iconic work (that can be customized to where you live) reads like one big, delightful, warm-and-fuzzy hug—kinda like Pooh bear himself.

“I was delighted at the opportunity to direct the premiere of Jakob Spruce’s Appalachian-themed adaptation of Winnie-the-Pooh—these are timeless characters that have transcended generations. The script gives several prominent moments to each character, highlighting the themes of strong community and friendship that are core tenets of Appalachian culture. Our audiences resonated with this 'big and beautiful place full of fun and adventure,' and they sang along with some great music as well! Getting to watch the students settle into their respective roles and discover how important 'play' is in creating any multi-dimensional character was undoubtedly the most rewarding element of my experience in the Hundred Acre Wood.” - Jackson Johnson, Director, Capital High School (Charleston, WV)
