Baltimore, 1966. The Snyders—especially 11-year-old Timothy—are excited their beloved Orioles are battling the Dodgers in the World Series. But there's bigger drama at home: high school senior Cathy is in love with an older man and is thinking of skipping college and moving in with him; Michael is letting his hair grow long like his British Invasion heroes, and dreams of finally getting out from under his older brother's shadow by starting a rock band, but everybody's golden boy Joseph's luck has run out, and he's dragged from the house in handcuffs. With their father's blood pressure about to put him in an early grave, it's their mom, somehow, who holds them all together—until tragedy strikes. It's a typical Baltimore family fighting the outside world with as much passion as they fight each other, but when the chips are down, who can you count on if not your family?
